To develop a network that empowers diverse local communities to tackle gender based violence against women and girls with the aims of:
- Empowering survivors voices to bring about systemic change and community transformation
- Resourcing communities to provide long term holistic support and empowerment to women
Survivor Speakers
Our pearls are powerful advocates for individuals impacted by violence against women and girls. Their stories of courage, resilience, and dedication to helping others find freedom and safety inspire change. To amplify their voices, we’ve introduced the ‘Request a Survivor Speaker‘ resource, connecting organizations with survivor speakers who share their experiences to raise awareness and drive action against violence.

In conversations with partners around the UK, we have become increasingly aware of the need for a network of shared learning and knowledge. We are building a partnership network from across diverse UK communities to empower local communities to tackle gender based violence against women and girls (VAWG). We believe this is most effectively done through championing diverse survivor-informed collective action, which is progressively innovative and effective due to its shared learning and evaluation.
Combined with the knowledge of the many organisations working in VAWG, this creates ‘thought leadership’ that we believe will give communities the agency to address this vital issue. Furthermore the sharing of local/diverse expertise will bring benefits to other communities.
How?
We are developing shared resources for equipping, supporting, training and facilitating of ideas. These are ‘how to’ and ‘good practice’ resources which will have regular evaluation and reviews to include shared learning. In addition, we would like to run forums and conferences, backed up with academic research (particularly around neurodiversity, trauma and mental/physical health impact) to support experiential knowledge and evaluation of resources. Resources will be available to local organisations to access through a website, comprehensive comms and media strategy, and specialist consultant team.
We are looking for partners around the UK who are interested in pioneering this Pearl Network of community-based resources and thought leadership.
