Hersham Centre for the Community
Building on Hersham’s strong community spirit
Hersham Centre for the Community has a long history of bringing people together, and we’re delighted to become part of its next chapter.
Rather than replacing what already exists, our approach is to work alongside local residents, volunteers and community organisations to build on the Centre’s many strengths whilst developing new ways of supporting local people.
The Centre will also become our East Surrey base for children’s health and nutrition programmes, supporting families facing food insecurity and wider health challenges across the area.
What you’ll find at Hersham
As the Centre develops, it will include:
- Community activities
- Community volunteering
- Meeting spaces for local organisations
- Children’s health and nutrition programmes
- Family support
- Local partnerships
- Local health services in partnership with Hersham Surgery
- Opportunities shaped alongside the local community
Listening First
Every community is different and over the coming months we will continue to invest time meeting local residents, existing users and partner organisations to understand what matters most to the people who already call Hersham Centre for the Community their own. This will help shape future activities and ensure the Centre continues to reflect the community it serves.
Latest News
Preparation work is currently underway before the Centre reopens. This includes building surveys, refurbishment planning, community conversations and developing partnerships that will support the Centre for many years to come.
The Centre will re-open on Tuesday 8th September and we anticipate a schedule of activities to be published by the end of July.
